Sparkling clean laundry - made easy!
When you buy new towels and bathrobes, you want them to last as long as possible. Today we asked the experts in Austria for clean laundry for their care tips. Like Vossen, our partner claro produces in Austria under the most sustainable conditions and today answers the question of whether fabric softener is absolutely necessary.
How many degrees should I wash my towels at?
Today's detergents are able to eliminate bacteria, germs and stains at temperatures as low as 20°C to 40°C. For the sake of the environment, we therefore recommend a maximum temperature of 40°C for hygienically clean laundry.
How has washing behavior changed?
At claro, we are constantly working on making our washing powders even more efficient and sustainable. A low-temperature washing program is increasingly recommended for the benefit of sustainability. We already achieve excellent results at 30°C or 20°C. In general, we are seeing trends such as the "no-wash" movement, which recommends airing jeans, for example, and washing them less often. We can live more sustainably if we save ourselves a few washes and brush off a small stain by hand. Sportswear brands are working on materials that stay fresh longer when worn. If we wash consciously and use sustainable washing powder, this saves time and money and extends the life of the textiles.
Which detergent should I use for my colored laundry?
For colored laundry, we recommend the classic color washing powder, which is gentle on the delicate colors of colored laundry.
How much detergent should I use?
The exact dosage is indicated on the washing powder packaging. When using claro washing powder, we recommend a heaped tablespoon of washing powder for normal soiling and water hardness.
Is it even necessary to use fabric softener?
The ingredients in fabric softener are usually harmful to the environment and absolutely unnecessary. We recommend adding a "claro limescale stop tab" to every wash load in areas with very hard water. This also ensures that the laundry comes out of the washing machine softer. If this is still not enough, you can add a solution of citric acid or vinegar to the fabric softener dispenser and use this as an alternative fabric softener. The result: soft and absorbent towels thanks to the power of nature.
