1925 The company is founded initially by Burghardt Vossen with a staff of six in Gütersloh (Germany) The guiding philosophy is to make the luxury article, terry towelling, accessible to everyone as a normal everyday product



1936 Vossen has 400 employees and production runs to three shifts around the clock.



1945 Business restarts after a break caused by the War.



1951 Invention of the bathrobe and housecoat made of terry towelling



1955 The first terry towelling printing machine is put into service



1961 Foundation of the facility in Jennersdorf (Austria)



1963 The first terry towelling double printing machine is put into service



1967 The first terry towelling knitwear loom is put into service



1990 Average prices for terry towelling begin to fall



1996 Unused capacities have an effect on the profitability of the company



1997 New major shareholder and a successful "relaunch" of the company, with a new market orientated concept. Vossen Jennersdorf is taken over by an Austrian investment group which has all the rights to the use of the brand names worldwide. Vossen Jennersdorf becomes the European Head Office and the centralised warehouse for Europe is also installed here.



2001 Equity is boosted by € 4.2 m and brand name rights are purchased from Wirtschaftsservice Burgenland AG (WiBAG), the company representing the Austrian state of Burgenland. This represents the final stage in the successful reorganisation of the company. The Jennersdorf location and its 200 jobs are now secured in the medium and long term. Vossen is one of the largest textile mills in Austria and has, since its founding here, been a solid contributor to the economic development of the Burgenland area, close to the Hungarian border



2002 Commissioning Europe's most advanced series of computer controlled looms is the prerequisite for a qualitative upgrade in the products and an improvement in flexibility and efficiency by increasing the fineness of the reed
from 10.5 to 12



2004 Privatisation - WiBAG sells its shares to Linz Textil AG. This makes Linz the 100% owner of Vossen AG & Co. KG
